DocuTrack can offer retail pharmacies two options to maximize efficiencies:

1. Central Processing of Prescriptions

• Order / Data entry
• Receive, interpret, or clarify orders
• Claims adjudication
• Drug utilization review
• Obtaining refill and substitution authorizations
• Prior authorization
• Therapeutic interventions
• Provide drug information
• Other exception handling functions

Identified prescriptions to be processed are scanned at the retail pharmacy. Using DocuTrack, prescriptions are passed electronically to the central processing site. The “clean” prescription(s) is electronically passed back to the retail pharmacy for dispensing.

2. Workload Balance Prescription Processing

Workload balance would help busy retail pharmacies off load prescriptions to help with the tasks identified above.

Identified prescriptions to be processed are scanned at the retail pharmacy. Using DocuTrack those prescriptions are passed electronically to another (less burdened) retail pharmacy. The clean prescription(s) is electronically passed back to the retail pharmacy for dispensing. Both options allow pharmacist remote access (from home or other location).
