interface features

OVERVIEW
DocuTrack employs an open architecture allowing it to interface with a variety of different systems. Our software and interfaces are built on industry standards without proprietary underpinnings that will lock your organization into rigid structures. This architecture along with our ongoing commitment to provide a stable version independent interface, allows your organization to realize levels of integration not found with other systems. Our open architecture allows global access to DocuTrack from spreadsheets to accounting systems. This allows you to employ DocuTrack in advanced processes that are limited only by your imagination.
INTEGRA'S INTERFACE STANDARD - DIRECTCONNECT 2.0
DocuTrack's Interface Standard, DirectConnect 2.0, allows vendors to directly interface their application to DocuTrack circumventing the problems found with Image Enabling software and screen scraping technologies.

  • Image Enabling applications use many different technologies to get data from your line-of-business application to your document management system. Image enabling represents a group of technologies that often include Screen Scraping and/or OCR recognition.
  • OCR is fraught with issues since it is not an exact solution. If it incorrectly recognizes a patient name or prescription number, it now becomes much more difficult to locate the indexed document. Both OCR and screen scraping are version dependant. If the user interface of the application changes, the screen scraping and OCR interfaces must be retooled. Lastly, both technologies typically navigate to many different screens to obtain the information required to index the document. This can be very time consuming and turn a simple indexing operation into a 10-15 seconds wait.

Not satisfied with these results for our clients, we developed an interface standard, DirectConnect 2.0, which solves these problems and provides a standardized platform for vendors to implement. This allows the creation of a seamless integration between DocuTrack and your applications.
A small sample of some capabilities made possible with DirectConnect 2.0:

  • Associate (index) prescription, patient, treatment, ancillary and facility records to the currently loaded document.
  • Load any document for the associated record from within the vendor's software.
  • Index scanned delivery manifests to the prescriptions listed on the manifest.
  • Submit barcoded refills to your pharmacy system.
  • Enables batch refill submission and automatic delivery manifest indexing. This allows incoming refill barcodes to be scanned, associated to the document and with two clicks, batch submitted to your pharmacy system.
  • The DirectConnect 2.0 interface standard removes the problems and maintence of Image Enabling and Screen Scraping and offers extended functionality not capable with these unreliable technologies.

Different vendors have chosen to implement different features unique to their systems so please contact your vendor for a current list of DocuTrack features.
